Who writes PayslipIQ UAE
This is a money site, so you should know who wrote the numbers and who is answerable for them. One person is, and he is named below.
Written and reviewed by Rocco Clayfield, Founder and Editor ยท Last reviewed: 29 August 2026
Reviewed by: every calculator, guide and report on PayslipIQ UAE is written and reviewed by Rocco Clayfield, Founder and Editor. He checks each figure against its primary source before publication, and he is the person a correction reaches. Last reviewed: 29 August 2026. Next scheduled review: 6 April 2027.
Who writes and reviews the figures on PayslipIQ UAE?
Rocco Clayfield, Founder and Editor. He is the sole director and the person with significant control of GoldPaid Ltd, the publisher, with identity verification complete on the Companies House register. He writes and reviews every page here.
Checked on the Companies House register for company 17382540 on 27 August 2026: one officer, no resignations, active director appointed 5 August 2026, identity verification requirements complete.
Rocco Clayfield
Founder and Editor, PayslipIQ. Author and reviewer of all reports, guides and news on PayslipIQ UAE.
Rocco founded PayslipIQ and runs it. On this site he does the work himself: he chooses the primary sources, writes the methodology behind each calculator, writes and reviews the guides, carries out the scheduled reviews, and handles corrections when readers report an error.
The accountability behind that is a matter of public record rather than a byline. He is the sole director and person with significant control of GoldPaid Ltd, company 17382540, the entity that publishes this site, with 75 per cent or more of the shares and voting rights and his identity verified on the Companies House register. If a figure here is wrong, there is a named person at a registered address who is answerable for it, and you can confirm that he exists before you take our word for anything.
We publish no qualifications, professional memberships, employment history or photograph for him, because we only publish what we can evidence. The site promises no fake anything on How We Work, and that promise covers the author page as much as it covers the gratuity figures. What is set out below is the part that actually matters to a reader: what he is accountable for, how the work is checked, and how to reach him.
What he is accountable for
- The methodology. How gratuity is calculated on basic pay, how UK tax and National Insurance are applied in the comparison tools, and how the cost-of-living gap is framed. If the method is wrong, that is his call to answer for.
- The choice of primary sources. Which published authority each figure is taken from, and the rule that we cite the source itself rather than someone else's summary of it.
- The review cadence. Deciding when pages are re-checked, and carrying out that check.
- Corrections. Reading every error report, testing it against the source, and publishing the fix.
- What the site refuses to do. No invented numbers, no fake reviews, no guaranteed values, no regulated advice.
How pages are reviewed
The process is deliberately simple, because a simple process is one that actually gets followed. It has two halves: what he checks by hand, and what a script checks for him before anything is published.
| What is checked | How | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Every rate against its own primary source | Read from the named authority itself, never from another site's summary. A figure with no traceable source does not go on the page. | Before publication and at every review |
| UK income tax and National Insurance arithmetic | Re-run against an independent reference implementation at eight salaries from £30,000 to £200,000. More than £2 out and the release stops. | Before every deploy |
| UAE gratuity arithmetic | Re-run at four service lengths against Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, and asserted identical to the dirham across six timezones. | Before every deploy |
| Crawler-versus-user parity | The forty-two result values the four calculators write into the static HTML must equal what each one computes from its own defaults, so the figure Google indexes is the figure you get. | Before every deploy |
| Accessibility | axe-core across all fourteen pages at desktop and mobile widths. Zero violations required. | Before every deploy |
| Author and company identity | Job title, Person schema, company number and registered office asserted identical on every page. | Before every deploy |
| UK rates, thresholds and allowances | Re-checked against HMRC and cross-checked against the House of Commons Library summary of direct tax rates. | Every UK tax year. Next: 6 April 2027 |
| Indicative sterling to dirham rate | Re-checked and re-labelled indicative. It is an orientation figure, not a dealing rate. | Quarterly. Next: 27 November 2026 |
| A figure a reader reports as wrong | Checked against the primary source, corrected if wrong, and published in the corrections log with the date and what changed. | On report |
The automated half is three scripts in the site's repository, 886 counted checks in total. They are described in full on How We Work. Every guide also carries its own last-reviewed date at the top of the page.
One person writes and reviews. What that means
There is no second human reviewer on this site. Saying so is more useful to you than pretending otherwise, and it is the honest limit of everything above. Three things stand where a second expert would be.
- The named-source rule. Every rate has to come from a named public authority, and each one is listed against its figure in the source table. You can check any single number without asking us.
- The automated gate. The arithmetic, the parity between what a crawler reads and what you see, and the accessibility of every page are checked by script before publication. A machine does not get tired or agree with itself.
- The public corrections log. Every mistake we have found is published with its date, the page and what changed, in the corrections log. Fourteen entries so far, including the ones that made us look bad.
None of the three is a substitute for a second qualified reviewer. They are the controls that exist, they are stated openly, and they are why the corrections log is public rather than private.
The sources he works from
These are the same sources named on How We Work, used consistently across the site.
- UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, the Labour Law, for the gratuity formula, qualifying service and settlement deadlines.
- MoHRE and the official u.ae portal, for end-of-service benefits and private-sector labour rules.
- The DIFC, for the DEWS workplace savings scheme that applies in place of standard gratuity inside the centre.
- The UAE Federal Tax Authority, for VAT and corporate tax rates and thresholds.
- HMRC and GOV.UK, for income tax, National Insurance, the Statutory Residence Test, split-year treatment, the P85, voluntary NI, the Non-Resident Landlord Scheme and non-resident capital gains tax.
- The House of Commons Library, for its annual summary of UK direct tax rates and allowances, used to cross-check HMRC figures.
What he writes
Everything published here. That includes the four calculators — the UAE gratuity calculator, the take-home and gratuity calculator, the UK-vs-UAE comparison and the job offer decoder — and the guides Gratuity After Dismissal, Moving from the UK and Already Working Here.
The same person writes the UK site
Rocco Clayfield's full author profile sits on the UK site, where he is listed as founder and the author and reviewer of record for its guides and data studies: payslipiq.co.uk/authors/rocco-clayfield. That page covers UK PAYE, National Insurance, tax codes, workplace pensions and student loan repayments; this one covers the UAE. It is the same person, the same sourcing rule and the same correction process, and the two profiles are linked to each other so they are read as one author rather than two.
What this profile does not claim
Worth stating explicitly on a tax and money site, because most author pages in this niche imply the opposite by omission.
- No professional qualification. Rocco Clayfield is not held out as a chartered accountant, a tax adviser, a solicitor, an immigration adviser or a regulated financial adviser, and PayslipIQ UAE is none of those things.
- No memberships or accreditations. We publish no professional body, no licence number and no certification, because there are none to publish.
- No career history, employer list or photograph. We publish only what a reader can verify. What is verifiable is on the Companies House register, and it is linked above.
- No experience claim. You will not find "twenty years in payroll" on this page. We have not counted the years and we are not going to invent them.
- No audience numbers, testimonials, star ratings or client counts. The site has none worth quoting, so it quotes none.
- No regulated advice. Nothing written here is financial, tax, legal or immigration advice. For a decision you will act on, you need a UK-qualified accountant or a qualified UAE legal or tax adviser, and the responsibility sits with them.
What is left after all of that is the part that can be checked: named sources, published methodology, an automated gate and a dated corrections log. That is the case for trusting this site, and it is deliberately the only case we make.
Corrections
Every correction published so far is listed with its date, the page and what changed in the corrections log. If a figure on this site is wrong, tell him. Send the page and the figure to hello@payslipiq.co.uk or message +44 7944 014111 on WhatsApp. He checks each report against the primary source, corrects the page where we are wrong, notes what changed where the error would have altered someone's answer, and explains the working where we are not.

Other contributors
There are none. At present Rocco Clayfield writes and reviews everything on PayslipIQ UAE. If that changes, contributors will be named on this page with the same detail, and their pages will carry their byline rather than his.
About the wider network
