Terms of use

The terms on which PayslipIQ UAE makes its calculators and guides available to you, and the limits of what an estimate can do.

Last reviewed: 29 August 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using payslipiq-ae-pro.vercel.app ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and PayslipIQ ("we", "us", "our"). They should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, our Disclaimer and the methodology set out at How We Work.

2. Who we are

PayslipIQ is a trading name of GoldPaid Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 17382540), registered office 179 Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol, England, BS8 2AG. Data protection registration ZC214216, Information Commissioner’s Office. That registration is held in the name of an individual rather than by GoldPaid Ltd, and nothing here should be read as a claim that the company holds an ICO registration of its own. PayslipIQ UAE is the British-expat site in the PayslipIQ family, which also publishes payslipiq.co.uk for the UK.

We are an educational publisher. We are not a government body, a regulator, a payroll bureau, a law firm, an accountancy practice, a recruitment agency, a relocation agency or an immigration adviser, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of those things. GoldPaid Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this site is regulated financial advice or a personal recommendation. Section 4 and our Disclaimer set out what that boundary means in practice. General enquiries: hello@payslipiq.co.uk.

3. Description of the Service

The Service provides free calculators and plain-English guides for people moving to, working in, or leaving the United Arab Emirates. It currently comprises four calculators and three written guides. The calculators are the take-home and gratuity calculator, the UAE gratuity calculator, the UK-vs-UAE relocation comparison and the job-offer decoder. The guides cover moving from the UK, already working in the UAE and gratuity after dismissal. These Terms apply to all seven.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to us, which also means we cannot recover, verify or re-run a calculation on your behalf. There are no accounts and no paid products on this site. We do not appoint, recommend or refer advisers, and we receive nothing if you engage one.

Is “Ask us a question” an advice service?

No. It opens a WhatsApp message to the people who write this site. You get a free, human, plain-English read of your figures, normally within one working day. Nobody on it is a solicitor, an accountant or an FCA-authorised adviser.

The floating button appears on every page of this site and links to wa.me/447944014111. Section 3a sets out what it covers and what it does not. Checked 27 August 2026.

3a. The WhatsApp channel: what it is, what it is not, and what it costs

What it is. One number, +44 7944 014111, read by the people who write this site. Send the figures from an offer or a settlement and we will tell you in plain English where the arithmetic looks wrong, which parts of a package count as basic pay and which do not, and what we would put to the employer before anyone signs anything.

What you can expect. A written reply from a person, normally within one working day, UK business hours, Monday to Friday. We are a small publisher, so we do not guarantee a reply or a response time. If a question needs a professional, we will say so instead of answering it.

What it is not. It is not regulated financial advice or a personal recommendation. It is not legal advice, tax advice, an employment-law opinion, an immigration service, a relocation service or a recruitment service. Nobody answering is a solicitor, a chartered accountant, a licensed immigration adviser or an adviser authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nobody is acting in a professional capacity when they reply. What you get is an informed second read of the numbers, on the same terms as everything else on this site.

What it costs. Nothing. There is no fee, no paid tier and nothing to buy on this site. We take no commission and no referral fee of any kind, and we hold no affiliate arrangement with anyone. If that ever changes we will say so on this page before it changes, not after.

The label on the button. Where the floating WhatsApp button is labelled “Ask us a question”, read it as an invitation to ask the people who write this site a question, not as a claim to a professional qualification or to any regulated status. This section governs. The label does not.

What we see. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and our Privacy Policy sets out what we receive and how long we keep it. Some pages pre-fill the message with the figures already on your screen so you do not have to retype them; you can delete any of it before you press send.

4. Not financial, tax, legal, immigration or employment advice

The Service is provided for general information and education only. GoldPaid Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this site is regulated financial advice or a personal recommendation. Nothing here is legal, tax, accounting, investment, immigration or employment advice either. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to accept or refuse a job offer, to relocate, to resign, to accept a settlement, to move a pension, to open or close an ISA, to file or not file a return, or to take any other step.

Our Disclaimer states that boundary in full, in one place, and it is the version that governs. Do not read a different formulation into these Terms.

Results are automated estimates produced from the figures you enter and from published rules and rates. They cannot take account of everything in your contract, your service record, your visa position or your personal circumstances. You should not rely solely on this Service when making a financial, legal or career decision. For advice you can act on, consult a UK-qualified accountant or tax adviser for UK matters, a qualified UAE legal or tax adviser for UAE employment and gratuity matters, a licensed immigration adviser for visa and residency matters, and an appropriately authorised financial adviser for investment and pension matters.

5. Accuracy and the limits of an estimate

We use published, primary sources and we show our working, so that any figure here can be checked against the rule it came from. What we do not warrant is that a figure is still current at the moment you read it, or that it fits your own contract and circumstances. Section 11 sets out what we do when a figure is wrong. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The specific limits:

5.1 UAE end-of-service gratuity

Our gratuity figures apply the standard mainland formula under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 to the basic salary you enter. The real entitlement depends on how your contract splits basic pay from allowances, your exact continuous service, the reason your employment ended, any unpaid leave, deductions or advances, and your employer's final settlement. Employees in the Dubai International Financial Centre fall under the DEWS workplace savings scheme rather than the standard formula, and some free zones operate their own arrangements. Where those apply, our figure will not describe your position.

5.2 UAE and UK tax

UAE rules on personal income tax, VAT and corporate tax, and UK rates, thresholds and residence rules, all change. We apply published figures for the stated year, and we state the year on the page. A figure that was right when we published it may not be right when you read it. If HMRC, the UAE Federal Tax Authority, MoHRE or your employer tells you something different, treat their position as correct.

5.3 Exchange rates

Currency conversions use an indicative rate stated on the page. It is a snapshot for orientation, not a dealing rate. We cannot and do not forecast currency movements.

6. No guarantee of gratuity or tax outcomes

We do not guarantee any outcome. In particular, we do not guarantee the gratuity or end-of-service sum you will actually receive, the take-home pay you will actually see, the UK tax you will actually pay, your UK residence status in any tax year, that a relocation will leave you better off, or that any authority or employer will agree with a figure produced by this site. Any number produced here is an estimate for your own understanding, not a quotation, a settlement offer, a tax computation or a binding statement of entitlement.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Enter accurate figures if you want a useful estimate, and check the result against your own paperwork.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, scrape, overload or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure it runs on.
  • Not use automated tools, scripts or bots to make excessive requests or to harvest content.
  • Not present output from this Service to any third party as professional, regulated or official advice.
  • Not use the Service to harass, defame or harm anyone.

8. Third-party links and sources

We link to third-party sources such as u.ae, MoHRE, the UAE Federal Tax Authority, the DIFC, GOV.UK, HMRC and the House of Commons Library, and we may link to other third-party sites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and a link is not an endorsement. We do not appoint, recommend or refer advisers. We run no adviser panel, we operate no referral arrangement, and we receive no commission, referral fee or other payment if you engage a professional. Ask us on WhatsApp what kind of professional your question needs and we will tell you, but finding and appointing them is your step: any contract is between you and them, and we do not supervise, guarantee or accept responsibility for the advice they give or the service they provide. If that changes, we will say so here before it does.

9. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including the text, guides, calculator logic, design, layout, code, and the "PayslipIQ" name and logo, is the intellectual property of PayslipIQ or its licensors. You may read it, print it and share links to it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, adapt or create derivative works from it, or use it for commercial purposes, without our prior written permission. Where we cite legislation and government sources, those remain the property of their publishers.

10. Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free from error. We may change, suspend, withdraw or discontinue the Service or any part of it, including any calculator, at any time and without notice.

11. Accuracy, corrections and limitation of liability

We aim for the figures on this site to be right, and we publish the working so that you can check them. If you find a figure that is wrong, tell us on WhatsApp or at hello@payslipiq.co.uk. We will correct it and record the date we did. We do not ask you to accept that our figures may be wrong as the price of using the site.

What we do not accept is responsibility for a decision taken on an estimate that was not checked first. Every calculator on this site tells you, at the point it gives you a number, that the number is an estimate built from what you typed and from published rules, and that your entitlement turns on your own contract, your own service record and the position your employer, HMRC, MoHRE or the Federal Tax Authority actually takes. Checking it against those is your step, not ours, and we are not liable for loss arising because it was skipped.

Subject to the paragraph below, and to the fullest extent permitted by the law of England and Wales, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data or business interruption arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. That includes losses arising from an employment dispute, a resignation, a contract accepted or refused, a relocation, a visa outcome or a currency movement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, and any term of these Terms that a court finds unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not bind you.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published at this address, with the review date shown at the top and bottom of the page. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Please check this page when you return.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, including non-contractual disputes or claims, are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. You and PayslipIQ agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim. Nothing in this clause limits a consumer’s statutory right to bring proceedings in their country of residence. If you are a consumer habitually resident outside England and Wales, you also keep the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and PayslipIQ in relation to your use of the Service.

16. Contact

For questions about these Terms, email hello@payslipiq.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp. For data protection matters, see our Privacy Policy.
